This Week's Focus:
Honesty is commendable. We see that honest, authentic people have strong values, morals, and ideals for their lives. And honesty is simple to practice: Tell the truth, and nothing but the truth. But it's deceptively difficult. Many times, different parts of us minimize the truth, or exaggerate it, or distract from it, because there's discomfort there. So we stay in the safety of the shadows. Although being honest with ourselves can be hard, it's the only way we'll be free.
Featured resource: "The Spiritual Practice of Self-Leadership" on IFS Talks podcast (51 min). Feel free to listen and bring questions!
Group meditation: TBD.
Whichever meditation we choose, we'll practice connecting with our emotional parts from our higher Self.
Partner activity: 6Fs partner activity
About the Event:
Welcome to Psychedelic Parts Work! This is a peer-led space to introspect and connect using the Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy model, also known as "parts work". Whether new or experienced, you're welcome to join Christina T. and Seth W. for IFS meditations, activities, and discussions. Learn this emotional tool for daily life and for journeys, and practice your skills in a community container. Let's embrace every part of ourselves!
For Newcomers:
We're excited to have you! We focus on deepening knowledge and introspection with a basis in the language of IFS. You can view articles, books, meditations, and more on the Psychedelic Parts Work Resource List. Feel free to arrive 15 minutes early for an overview and an opportunity to ask questions. We hope you will take away more curiosity about yourself, connection to your emotions, and courage to make changes in your life.
